Hi there!
My name is Rachel Loveday, I have just graduated from the University of Wollongong with a double degree–Bachelor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing)-Bachelor of Journalism after five years of study from 2010 until 2014.
The ABCs of Uni Life documents my experiences of uni life from before it all began with my UAI and gap year through to my experiences with classes, my majors and graduation, as well as my life on a personal level with my family, friends and ups-and-downs.
My purpose with The ABCs of Uni Life is to talk about my experiences with uni to give high school students, prospective uni students and the parents of high school students and prospective uni students an idea of what uni and uni life is like. My experience is purely my experience and I am not speaking for every uni student, but I believe in talking about my experience to help others. In the spirit of trying to help high school students and prospective uni students, you will also find useful links to transport and university websites.
I originally intended The ABCs of Uni Life to be a series of columns that lasted over a year for the online edition of the University of Wollongong’s publication, Tertangala. The posts from A to M were published on Tertangala, however due to university and work commitments, as well as creative differences with the Tertangala editors, I decided to establish The ABCs of Uni Life as a blog. I also intended The ABCs of Uni Life to be published as a book, however I decided to publish it as a blog to make it more accessible. Every topic in The ABCs of Uni Life is interconnected, so there is repetition throughout the blog.
You will find below an index to The ABCs of Uni Life. Feel free to read and enjoy!
